Before anything else, I have to officially apologize to all the readers of Nigeria University News for the long abandonment of this site. Not only are you guys the fulcrum and the engine that keep the entire NUN team going but also our reason for being here.
Of course I owe you an explanation and that is what I am here for. Many of you have been calling and email me asking; “Dapo, what happened to Nigeria University News?”, “why is it not being updated again like before?” There is a particular lady that got so angry that she told me plainly on phone that if I wasn’t ready to run it again I should take it off the blogosphere but after explaining to her that I did not purposely chose to stop running it but circumstances behind it, she sighed and relaxed. You want believe she offered to help out in what ever way she might be of help just to see us back on track. That is the level of love you guys have for this site.
Of course, you all want to know what the circumstances are. Many of you are not aware that I school at UNIMAID located in the Boko Haram haven. If you still recall, it was affected in their attack sometime back, I just thanked God I wasn’t a victim though some students were not that lucky. You need to see the way I was shivering that day. For most of the period, network services were cut off in Borno and the other two affected states. Though the network connections are not fully restored but we will utilize this to the fullest in taking NUN to its next big destination.
What Next for Nigeria University News Portal?
This is exactly what one of you asked and I must confess I was rattled, I wasn’t rattled because there is no longer any vision concerning Nigeria University News Portal. I was because it shows you are caring. NUN is coming with a new theme that is more appealing and user friendly to our esteem readers. Not only that, we are also bringing onboard Scholarship Updates which you have been requesting for a while now.
